I was recently wondering if i should buy a Line6 Spider II 112 Guitar Combo Amplifier (1x12 in.) I play mostly punk music. My friend said it sounds amazing. The problem is he lives in a differant state so i cant play it. My local shop also does not have this amp. So my question is, does this amp have good sound and would it be good for playing punk music? Any help would be appreciated.

It's digital sounding.....and REALLY bad.

Go with a Roland Cube or something from the Vox Valvetronix series....

Or give us a price range.

yeah i had a spider2 you will like it at first but eventually be frustrated with it. i would steer in another direction if i were you... but if you do try it and love it, go for it dont listen to anyone here. just play through what you like to play through.

I have it, with the right guitar it sounds great.
Much better then the behringer and crates I have...

I say go for it, you'll like it!

^Behringers tend to such across the board and Crates are hit or miss.

Personally I'd look into a tube Fender and a nice distortion petal or maybe a Traynor if I was you. Those new A-class tube units that sell under the Crate name now (They're manufactured by Ampeg people) aren't that bad.

But yeah, you're better off with an analog SS amp than a Line 6...
