Ya so those upside down smiles that some guitar pro tabs have...frowns if you will. What do they mean and how do I paly them? I think they mean that you tie the notes together but I don't know what that means either.

I apoligize for asking noobish questions and this is probly not the forum to ask it in but....well you guys have been so helpfull with my other noobish questions that I thought I would ask agian.. Its been 8 days since I started playing and about 5 since I last posted a dumb question.... so ya about the upside down smiles.

Cheers
I love you guys

it sounds like a fermata. if it is, you just hold that note/chord as long as you want

this is the best example I can give you guys:

------0(upside down smile)7-----------
----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------

I know it means play E open then play holding down the e 7th fret. But what does the symbol in between mean (the upside down smile)

thanks
