when it comes to beginner guitars they are superb for the money. Ok, so they don't look like much, but they generally play nicely and don't sound half as bad as a lot of other beginner guitars

Their higher end guitars i dont have much experience with but i can only assume from the low end ones that they're pretty good

IMHO, Yamaha makes really good quality beginner/intermediate guitars. Some of their high/mid ends you better watch out, test it out 1st coz some of them, the qualities are neglected, such as the fretboard isnt properly sanded down smooth.

Yea, they are pretty good beginner/intermediate guitars.

Their high ends might be a bit dodgy, you can get better guitars for the money, but I think it almost compares to BC rich on high ends, except the 80's BC, it owns all.

I have an ERG121 under my bed somewhere.
I don't like it, really.
But it's not bad for £80.
However the pacifica is one of the best beginner guitars out there.

Yamaha guitars are superb, i have the pacifica 1151ms mike stern signature guitar, the top of the pacifica range and it is amazing. I always got a 412 off ebay which i love. My dad owned an SG2000s which was gorgeous and i wish he'd given me the chance to buy it before he sold it!

I played the RGX at a store once. It wasn't really my cup of tea, but I didnt really test it extensively...

Sorry, I've got a 70s SG2000 - Owns any BC and most other high ends including Gibson.

Yahama guitars are pretty gd, every1 slates them coz they make loads of other instruments too, and arnt "specialised" in guitars!!!!

I played on one before i got my Ibanez n it was a close call! It was the pickups tone and trem that won me over! But the guitar was just as well made.

I'll repeat several posts by singing the praises of the Pacifica guitars. Much, much better than most of the competition. I've seen some really beautiful looking natural finishes on them too...
And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me: no, nor woman neither... nor women neither.

Yamaha make terrific stuff, the SG2000 is IMO one of the greatest LP-a-like guitars ever made (excluding custom/hand made things that cost £10000000000 a pop.)

The pacifica's are amazong too, the lower end stuff is probably the ultimate beginner guitars and the top end models play really well. Myonly problem with them is that they tend to have really thin nut widths which I can't get on with personally.
