could anyone give me a few good sweeping shapes for a progression in D phrygian? its all in triples and has a pretty heavy feel to it.

Why dont you just take the phyrgian mode scale for D and re-arrange where you play the notes to make it sweepable.

Might want to find a flat ninth in the root chord. That's the distinguishing note of Phyrgian:

That's the most basic dmin b9 I can think of. Then again you may want to find a way to lose the tritone - hide it somewhere.

Just play around with your triads and inversions and see if you can find a nice way to fit Eb into it.
