Does anyone know if I can fit a black SG style pickguard (the large body-type one, not the smaller guard) on my Epiphone Special SG? I mean is there different types of pickguard for different models of SG or is it a 'one size fits all' type deal? If it is model specific, could someone point me in the right direction? Could someone post instructions on how to find one (preferably not just from ebay) and how to fit it?

Cheers!

just search for it,

im not too sure if the gibson ones will fit the epiphone ones as well. anywya, to install, just unscrew old one, and screw in new ones, the holes should fit or else you have the wrong pickguard, you shouldnt have to drill new holes.

Thats just it, my current sg has no pickguard fitted at all, thats why I will have to drill new holes...shouldn't be too difficult, I was just wondering what you guys thought about it really and whether someone with some experience in customising their gear could give me some pointers.

Cheers for the comments so far

anbd be worried about just ordering any SG pickguard not specifically made for your model, the pickup holes may not line up and the overall shape could be wonky.

I think youre safer getting one cut specifically for your guitar.
