Bought a Boss MD-2 Mega distortion pedal and I was wondering if anyone had any personal advice for the best levels to get that bottom-heavy, Hardcore/Metal sound. You know, levels that could give me really hearty chords (without too much nails-on-a-chalk-board- high end) and powerful notes when I'm palm muting (but not so much bass that it just sounds muffled and "blurpy")

Any advice?

Use treble pickup too. Rhythm pickup sounds great you'll get more of a 'blurpy' sound with it.

Edit: what is the behringer amp like? Is it any good... it looks to be quite a decent price...
