I have a Kustom 30w bass amp, and one of the equalizer knobs is labelled "notch". I have no idea what it does. Any ideas?

EDIT: Under NOTCH it also says "frequency"
So how am I supposed to take anything you say seriously,

Notch filters out a very small band of frequencies. You usually use a notch filter to remove frequencies where you're getting feedback.

It is similar to a parametric EQ system where you not only choose the frequency you can also choose the bandwidth.
