umm..well
I've been playing for around 3 years now and currently own a Stratish YAmaha rip-off
(Yamaha EG112 to be exact) and I really want to get a new guitar.
Flloyd Rose Bridge, 24 Frets are a must.
Being 14 i dont have a lot of money to spend so i was hpoing some of you guys might be able to help me.
I was thinking of getting the Ibanez RG350DX-I love the look and price
$400ish and the inlays on the Wizard II neck. The bridge too(Edge II..or III?)
anywho any suggetions?

Budget wise im thinking under 1000$

Good guitar except the bridge will eventually give you problems. If you'd rather not spend the money right now it will be a good guitar for a little while until you can upgrade it (ie new bridge and probably pickups). I'm no RG expert though, I opted for the S470 over the RG but it won't satisfy your 24 fret desire.

The pickups arent too bad on it, but you should change em...hell I own one, some call it "the Poor man's Jem" (I have no idea where they got that so dont ask me)

I was actually thinking about getting that same guitar but heard some bad stuff about its lack of production quality (unstable bridge and weak pick-ups). I wasn't up tp the $1000 budget so ($400 was mine) I heard some pretty good things about the ESP ltd MH-200fm... I think thats what its called. I didn't wanna deal with the ACTIVE pick-ups so the Passive EMGs sound fairly well. I'd recomend that one over the 350dx.

Honestly, You have to ask yourself why 24 frets?
What are you playing that requires 24 frets?
Honestly, I used to think that I needed 24 frets, until i actually sat down and looked at my music and realized I rarely use it, nor do the majority of the artists I like.
(The only two who I can name off my head would be Alexi Laiho and Steve Vai.)
Now after looking at the facts, that most of my favorite guitarists, dime, zakk wylde, randy rhoades and herman li just to name a few, don't even have 24 frets, I went with an Ibanez S2170 Prestige because 1) It sounded better than the comparitive RG(which was a 1570) (i despise the basswood tone) and 2) the S series has the arguably best trem system available.
So, ask yourself and think.

PS: I'm 14 too.

I guess you have a point there, Striketalonx.
However I have made up my mind. I gues the best thing would be to spend a little more now and get something better.
So thank you people^^ thx a lot for all your guidance.

Yeah I know...it's ridiculous, But it's a nice sounding guitar once you do some work to it.
