i saw a semi-finished sg body and neck on ebay that were priced attractively. however, they're maple with a rosewood fingerboard rather than the usual mahogany/rosewood. im concerned that using all maple will sound too bright (?). maybe the electronics should be coupled with 250k pots to mellow it out a bit? any thoughts? anyone built/played an all maple humbucker guitar before?

The neck will definatly give the mahogany body a more higher end with that maple neck. It may as well make the mahogany body sound crisper & sharper to a degree.

'Aim at perfection in everything, though in most things it is unattainable. However, they who aim at it, and persevere, will come much nearer to it than those whose despondency and laziness make them give it up as unattainable.'
the body is maple as well as the neck. thats why im wondering if itll be too bright
