Hey all, I'm getting my new Epi LP Standard soon and I need a new amp to compliment it. I was after a 30W practice amp, and I wondered what you guys recommend?

I have a good Metal pedal so ability to distort insanely isn't necessary, but I'd like some good tones to come out of it, clean and distorted, nonetheless.

I play mostly rock, indie and blues, and have a Squier Strat also.

No I don't think you did directly ask which amp.

I suggest you have a quick search to see whats been recommended.
If you can spend between £300 - £400 I suggest a Marshall or Laney valve combo.

I'd suggest a Peavey Model, got good distortion already. Or perhaps a Fender, but whatever.

bro, the fender frontman 15G/R is a gr8 practice amp, also the vox pathfinder 15R.

trust me on this, it doesnt have 2 be big and loud to be good.

I don't want a big, loud amp.

Preferably SS and cheapish. IE Orange Crush 30R, Roland Cube etc...That sort of stuff/price range.

I personally don't like my Fender amp + Strat combo. Might be a bit better with my LP, but I still wanted the new amp to play a lot more varied stuff.

Are you going to be gigging?
Those Roland cubes are supposed to be quite good and the Vox Valvetronix.

Have a search for those on google and see if you can hear any samples.

I don't think I will be gigging. Mostly just band practice.

Is the Vox Valvetronix a valve/SS hybrid?

The Cubes will do you good.

Anyone know about these Orange amps? I quite liked the look of the 30R. Has a fair few controls as well =)

The Fender G-DEC is a great amp, has a build in tuner, a bunch of pre-set drum beats and it can get pretty loud, good buy.

I'd get a Vox ADXXVT, that way you've got effects to play around with, some nice amp models, and you can use your pedal for the heavier stuff. Cubes don't really do anything that well, except nu-metal.
A dwarf might hear you. What then?

If you are in any way interested in the Vox AD valvetronics (I may consider buying one in the near future),here are some sound samples. And no, I don't think they are all-valve,but very good. As you intended, there is a 30 watt version.
