What does everyone think of Dallas Green's sideproject "City and Colour?"

Personally i like it, he has such a beautiful voice.
Oh and for those of you who don't know who Dallas Green is he is a vocalist in the band Alexisonfire.

His lyrics are lame, but he has a great voice.

He's from my city, and the guitar he uses in the "save your scissors" video was sold to him by the guitarist in my band.

Running away from this earth.
May it pass away in the beautiful flames that it was created for.
Because when tomorrow fails to come,
today is just not the same.
Inflamed earth.
Roses.
In this hope.
For all i care set it all ablaze.

I love Dallas Green's work. This belongs in Modern Rock, I believe
It's difficult to win unless you're bored.

no it doesnt belong in modern rock. at all.

and yeah, i love dallas green in City and Colour AND alexis.

love him.

i've also met him ;D

^ I knew you'd post that. I won't post mine, because I'm not a showoff

City and colour is ace. I saw a guy pick up his CD in the shop the other day, and I was like 'good choice'. Obviously I didn't actually say it because he looked like he'd hit me for being a patronising fuck. but i smiled on the inside.

best tracks are day old hate, sometimes, casey's song and comin' home. tons of his songs are really fun to play as well. not too difficult but some of the slides are a little tricky at first.

ive known about wade's project for a while but never checked it out.

it's good, but every track is quite similar to the last.

my favourite is in the water i am beautiful

I do like them quite a bit. But they're one of those bands I will never specifically listen to, I'll listen to a track or two on shuffle, but never feel, 'Ooh, I'm in a City and Colour mood right now'
#14
ive seen the Black Lungs live, but does he have an album out?

-chris-
<DInkyDaisy>I would so have sex with tauket now.
<SpacedOut>I'd kill to have tauket naked in a bath of warm milk right now.
<Blnkgttrst>Oh Chris, you're what the Spaniards call "El Terrible"

It looks like your sitting on his lap.

He is really good though.

This is probably old news:

City & Colour comes from his name

City ( Dallas ) Colour ( Green )

Didn't know which to bump, so bumped a random one.

Waiting.

New album soon. I couldn't find the thread where Dom posted the album cover, so I don't know if this is the more recent thread, because I can't find that one at all...

Dallas Green is one of the most talented, honest musicians out there.

I'm loving the sound of the new album. I really like that he chose to fill it out with percussion, other instruments, and the occasional grandiose chorus. It's a lot more refined.
#31
i'm listening to his CD of myspace right now, and it's really good. I've never listened to City and Colour before this.
"For Us, For Them, For You"
#32
ive heard the new ones been getting good reviews, but im yet to read them or hear it for myself, which is the more important.

props on bumping the thread and possibly/hopefully avoiding another one being posted once the albums been out a little while.
#33
I'm really liking Confessions and Death of Me

How good is the 1st album? I might need to get it.
"For Us, For Them, For You"
#34
confessions was good on the dvd, haven't heard it recorded yet.
i'm gonna find it hard to adjust to the full band he seems to have now. is the majority of the new record in the style of the new single?

^Yeah pretty much, there's a couple of mostly acoustic tracks, but a majority have some other instrument/form of drum. The ending of Confessions recorded is amazing.

^^If you like acoustic music, then it's definately worth checking out. It's pretty much an album of the same track over and over. But that track is so good that it's ohkay.

i bought the album off itunes (yes, BOUGHT :O)
it's awesome. atm i find it's better than sometimes, i like the way the album gradually gets folkier as it progresses. against the grain is a great track, hopefully he progresses on that sound
