Are active pickups better for metal? I play alot of metal. Are there any good passive pick ups for metal?
Gear:
Schecter C-1 BlackJack
Peavey 5150 II
Ibanez 25W "Tone Blaster"
Fender Starcaster (Not the vintage kind, the Wal-Mart Value kit kind"

If Dimebag22 was a pie, I would cover him with whipped cream and eat his insides...

I asked this because I was thing of getting an Ibanez Iceman(has passive pickups) or a C1 Hellraiser(which has active pickups). I was thinking if I got an Iceman it would just be more cost effective to slap some heavy metal passive pickups on there than getting the Hellraiser with EMG 81/85.

Is that a good idea?

EMG 81/85 Active for Me, and EMG HZ-H4 for Passive, but it's all about preference.
