Just curious if any of the veterans out there know if Slash uses particular modes/scales I should be paying close attention to when practicing. I'm just guessing he uses some much more than others and just wondered if someone with enough experience would be able to point them out for me.

Thanks!

slash has been known to whore out the pentatonic/blues scales while soloing. That will probably be a good starting place for you.

also, practicing shirtless with a tophat and sunglasses will help too

but yeah, a lot of blues scales.

Zakk Wylde.
He's like Elton John but with a guitar, more stylish clothes, and not gay.

also he uses blues and major and minor. Basically, whatever sounds good.

Many times he will use half step trills from natural minor, and quite a few songs he uses notes borrowed from harmonic minor.
Ibanez -> Peavey -> Eardrums

Apparently I'm on some list of people to listen to..?
