that bass is a Gibson Ripper, I think they discontinued production of that model but you could prolly find some old ones around the internet or guitar shops

Close. Its either a Gibson Ripper or Grabber, 1970s

EDIT: Yip, its a Grabber. Note the movable pickup.

Ahh cheers! Yeah I thought it was a Gibson, I even looked at the website to check for it but I didn't check the discontinued section as I've only just started seeing it... weird.

EDIT: Just checked the discontinued section and it's not there, and it didn't come up when I searched for it.

Did you even look at the picture? the bass you showed had no pick guard, the cuts were to pointy, and besides it is a Gibson Grabber bass, they were very similar to the Ripper but had a different headstock http://www.gibsonbass.com/grabber.php

It's a Gibson Grabber. The Ripper had two humbuckers, and the Grabber had one sliding humbucker. Also there was a Gibson G3 which had 3 single coils. they all shared the same body style, except the Ripper had the traditional batwing headstock.
