So I tried building Craig Andertons Tube Sound Fuzz, and when I plug in the power, I get nothing except the background hum of having an adaptor plugged in. If I unplug the power I get a very very faint signal coming through. Can anyone help me with this?

show us the schematic, a picture of your pedal's innards and tell me you've connected all the 'ground' ones together (good ) and not to actual ground which goes to the wall (bad ).

First of all, sorry about not keeping up with this thread, but I think I know the problem. It seems I'm not using the proper 4049 chips. The Schematic calls for a CD4049 (unbuffered) IC. The ones I bought are MC14049BCP. So I think that may be the problem.

Next Question: Anyone know a place in the U.S. that sells CD4049 hex inverters? I can't seem to find them online anywhere, even my local Radio Shack doesn't stock them.

Edit: oh...and the schematic is at http://www.freeinfosociety.com/electronics/schemview.php?id=325
