Im positive the ground on my LP is pretty weak as I get a decent buzz going on even with the volume knobs turned to zero. When I put my hand on the bridge it quiets it down (making a solid ground I guess) the question is what do I want to check and fix? Should I resolder everything or run one guage wire bigger?

if you're getting buzz with no signal coming from your guitar, that's either an amp or cable problem, not a guitar problem.

But putting your hand on the bridge quietens it?

I'd open up the back and just check that the black wire coming through from the bridge is still soldered on and if you have a multimeter with a connection test, see if there's a connection between the back of a pot or your output jack outer ring and the bridge to be sure the wire hasn't broken.
