i bought the movie Suburbia today. it was a pretty ok flick. really ends on a downer, though. what did you all think of the movie if youve seen it?

*EDIT*
Since we seem to have some ****heads in here right now, ill touch on some things in the movie. the performance by the Vandals was the best of the three in my opinion. the other bands being DI and TSOL. its about a bunch of punk rock kids living on this street if you didnt know

It's a movie, about punk. Idiots. Hard_rock you are totally right about the ****heads in here right now.

I haven't seen this yet, I want to though. Isn't it directed by Penelope Spheeris? 'Cause the Decline was pretty interesting... and Wayne's World.

Im suprised hottopic doesnt sell abusive parents to make kids think they are punks. No offensive to anyone with abusive parents of course.

Lol. Hot Topic is the emo-ist store ever. They have like four punk shirts, and a wall full of emo/indie/metal-core shirts.

Its not a ****ty movie, i admit the producer completely screwed over the kids and it is slightly exageratted but if you dont know any background about the movie and your watching it on face value its good, i'd recommend watching it. The actors are wooden and its a little unrealistic but it just adds to the feel of it.

There's a funny screwup in the movie that alot of people miss.

In the part where they're driving around in Jack Diddley's car looking for turf to steal, someone says "What about that one, Flea?"
And Flea replies "The name's Razzle for the movie, dude".

I don't like straight edge because it's part of Hardcore, and I don't like Hardcore because, aside from the terrible music, the kids are often very homophobic.

You forgot ugly, lazy and disrespectful.

Another thing most people don't know about the movie is that during one of the shows(Cant remember which) Slash is in the pit.

i like suburbia, its 2nd production movie but its ok, story is little stupid but ok.. flea is very funny, and D.I. had best performance :P

I wish the TSOL performance hadn't ben during their 'GOTH' phase.
"Wash Away" is a terrible song.

Shoulda been "Code Blue" or Eighty Times".

I've kinda wanted to see that movie for some time.
I figure it's gotta be better than "Dudes".

Suburbia is a fictionalized story that is supposed to be about The Connected, a crew of young punks in Hollywood who formed around 1979. Penelope took some of the things that were true about them, like the TC tattoo (though for some strange reason she made it larger than your average cattle brand) and that they hung tight together, but it's still a pretty superficial film. Some of the TC kids are in the movie, which for me is the best thing about it.
