I only have $150. I'm thinking about getting a les paul juinor or a squier bullet, comments?
#2
Vague thread alert.

Neither of those are an upgrade from a starter guitar, don't waste your money. Oh they also suck.
#4
save more and upgrade to a les paul standard or a real fender

No, I saw them on that documentary, Jurassic Park. They walked around and ate electric fences and people.

You should probably go and see which one feels better to you. You've narrowed the guitars to two. If price is your criteria, and you are just starting out, I would go for one of those packaged deals (like a strat pak) that include the amp, and accessories. I wouldn't shell out $150 on either one of those guitars. You could easily pick up those you mentioned used for around $75.

Wait for some time, try and save near about $250 add get yourself an Ibanez GRG170DX, believe me it would be well worth you hard earned money......Just give it some more time dude...

I don't have any way to earn money, I'm only 12, and I live in the town equivelent to hell where all we have is one music shop which is quite a bit expensive compared to websites like GC. I have some sort of harmony right now, it has 21 frets 3 single coil pickups 1 volume and 2 tone knobs, and a whammy bar. I play mainly rock like the white stripes. Any suggestions for a good guitar for that? I've only been playing for 4 months, but I don't practice a lot, but I do love to play.

Like an old school Harmony? I'd keep that, lost of Indie rockers these days are playing weird old pawn shop specials. EKO's have picked up a bit in popularity

I think its old school. I'm trying to take a picture but my camera doesn't wanna work.
#13
The main thing is, is that its my dad's and I'd like to have my very own guitar. What is an EKO again? sorry I'm a bit new to guitar slang

Fair enough

Myself, I'd go with the squire, I find they feel a bit more like the "real thing" (I.e. Like a real Fender). Plus I've found Squires to have higher quality parts then similar Epiphones

Play them both and see what you like

Good luck!

Edit: An EKO is a brand of Guitars made in the 60's and 70's. They came from Italy and were probably a bit higher up on the market the Harmony's. But similar designs. I myself own a 1969 EKO Ranchero 12, but I've retired it.

I just ruled out the juinor but now I need to find a half decent squier in my price range.
#16
Do you have an amp? If not, you could probably get a Squire Strat Pack that will give you a Squire Strat and a basic amp. If you do, just try used, or get a Squire Stratocaster

Perhaps an LTD Viper 50 or EC50?
I had a LTD Bass that was of fantastic quality for the money

the cheap rodo's arent any better.

the cheapest squier u should get is an affinity. because its made of alder wood.
the cheapest epi would be a studio, again, better tuners and wood.

dean makes a $99 guitar. made of basswood, not that bad. especially for the price.

well not really i mean its a laminated wood guitar. that's like plywood.
the problem with guitar not made of solid wood is that over time they tend not too hold a tune.

Well how long would it take for that to happen? Cause after about year or so I should be able to replace it with a better guitar.
