These are bands I love and listen to all the time:

He Is Legend
Alexisonfire
Atreyu
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster
Funeral for a Friend
Saosin
Deftones
Bayside
HORSE the band
The Fall of Troy
Mars Volta
Sparta
Bullet for my Valentine
As I Lay Dying
Coheed and Cambria
Dredg
Team Sleep
Strata
Tivium (in small doses)
Wolfmother
At the Drive-In
GlassJaw
Thursday
Thrice

These are bands that I don't like:

As Cities Burn
The Bled
Avenged Sevenfold
From Autumn to Ashes
Senses Fail
Lamb Of God
Shadows Fall
Underoath
Silverstein
Hawthorne Heights
Taking Back Sunday
My Chemical Romance
A Change of Pace
August Burns Red (too heavy)
Norma Jean (too heavy)

I'm hoping someone out there can recommend some awesome bands you think I would like and haven't heard of based on my likes and dislikes. Obviously, try to stay in the emo/screamo/hardcore genres, I tend to like the heavier side, but nothing too crazy. Thanks guys, you rock!

p.s. I'm looking for melody + good guitar + singer/screamer or even one good singer that knows when it's time to sing and when it's time to scream.

and I'll add to the lists as the suggestions come in, awesome so far guys, thanks!

I can't suggest anything you'd like, but if you feel like listening to new music try the Bad Brains or Leftover Crack. Both awesome bands.
Journalism is just a gun. It's only got one bullet in it, but if you aim right, that's all you need. Aim it right, and you can blow a kneecap off the world.

You have a lot of my favorite bands on there.

I would recommend Kaddisfly (like dredg) and 36 Crazyfists (AWESOME hardcore/metal band) and yeah maybe Trivium, they're a lot like Bullet but with more Metallica.
