I just wanted to make a thread so that the owners of this versatile guitar (including me) would get an idea of how to upgrade and get the most out of it, by changing the stock (standard) pickups.

It's all a matter of taste.

Sound over output.
Posers are like punks, except they do it for fashion

emg's have good sound, just not some of the super high output ones that all of the metal players use...

It's still all a matter of taste.

I'd say, it really depends on what you want, and what kind of music you like.

Some people might want a rails in the neck and a P94 in the bridge, or whatever, it's not a matter of one brand being the holy grail, no matter how much you esteem them.

oh, dont get me wrong, emgs arent the holy grail, or the holy hand grenade for that matter, but yea different people like different stuff, like me, i hate hum, alot so emgs are good for me, as well as good humbuckers, but some people dont mind the hum so much i guess....

This sempri_fi dude has been a suspected retard for a long time in my book, but this proves it.

EMG's are quiet...but there's a catch.

They often sound very sterile.
You need a good amp to make them sound any good.
They're expensive.
They require a battery.

And most of all, there are much better pickups on the market for a lower price.

So, what kind of music are you looking to play?
