ive always been curious about this as well, but im afraid that the hand oil will start to rot the wood if there isnt some sort of coating on it.

ya i never tried but that coatings is probably nessary, (guitar companys wouldnt put anything on that wasnt nesasry that would cost em extra)lol

I was thinking about that too lol. But I mean liike if a little of the finish was sanded just to smoothen it out was ok

i fu have a guitar teacher or know sum1 who does ask them, cuz you'd want sum1 who definatly knows what they're talkin about because im not sure

i scalloped my spare 1 piece maple neck and fretboard and left it unfinished. though it got a little dirty, after 2 months of playing it didnt warp. maybe because i was using 9s and tuning half step down quite alot
