New to the scene, they blend their influences well into an overall hardcore style of music. SERIOUSLY, CHECK THEM OUT!

Great name. Tunes aren't too bad either. Really like the voice of the singer, not overly fond of the growling/screaming bloke's vocals though.

Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullsh*t in order to be comfortable?

That's when you know you found somebody special. When you can just shut the f*ck up for a minute, and comfortably share silence.

Indie/hardcore in the vein of Fall of troy kinda...I like what I hear, and I really like the vocals, maybe because there not the normal clean. Good stuff.

Theirs so many of them locally, I never pick up names. However, my scene is turning very indy, so they don't play as much any more now. I believe my mate is setting up a good band like this.

If I can get any links for you, I shall.

No promises.

Hah I started a DGD thread a while ago but no one really got into it.

They just released whatever I say is royal ocean, I haven't gotten it yet but it's comin.

they're definitely not my favorite band and i wouldnt buy their cd, but i will say that they're the best band on rise records. tdwp gets real old because all of their songs sound pretty much the same, drop dead gorgeous sounds like a 5 year old girl screaming...blah blah blah...dance gavin dance is good compared to those two.

They sound like Fall of Troy?
Really?
What Fall of Troy have you been listening to?

They're good.
Better lyrics than AOF.
They do sound kinda like a rip-off though.

Heh, one of them has a mullet.

man Sean's band is really blowing up.
I've always thought of them as an Alexisonfire rip off personally, but a ton of people dig, go figure.

It's Safe to Say You Dig the Backseat is kinda tfotish and The Backwards Pumpkin Song has its parts. (off downtown battle mountain)

the new album kills the last one and i personally think there better than Aof.

Yep, these guys are awesome. Downhill Battle Mountain owns their old album. The singer has one of the best voices I've heard.

I am proud to say I think they are really generic and unimaginitive and most definitely are not hardcore.

I saw them live not too long ago... the singer's really good, he's pretty funny too, and the rest are pretty talented. Didn't have a ton of energy though, but it was an alright show. They have some good songs.
#31
I saw them last night and they were great. I can't stand the ****ty bands they tour with though.

Guitarist quit and joined this band :

http://myspace.com/heartshed

Hey everyone,

as of the end of this tour (August 20th) I will no longer be in Dance Gavin Dance.

as cliché as this sounds, I believe that my departure from the band is on the best of possible terms. I love each person in the band more than can be explained and respect them for their character and abilities. I am proud of what I've accomplished with these guys and can look back on most of what I've said and done with no regrets. Those things have made the experience worth it.

Thank you to each and every person that's come and watched us play or has said a single encouraging word to me. You have made traveling across the US in a terrible smelling van worth it and you have defined this band so far.

I will be joining Heartshed as their third guitarist when I get back home after a little break and will hopefully be releasing some solo stuff at the end of this year.

As far as the rest of the band is concerned, they will continue without me. No tours are cancelled and the band isn't breaking up. Disregard whatever rumors you've heard. There's no bad blood...I plan on watching these guys at every show they play locally and want to see them succeed. I just know that this isn't the right place for me to be right now.

many thanks,

Sean O'Sullivan

Word. Half the threads on the first page are ****ing scene bands.

I like DGD, didn't think to find them in the hardcore section though.
Vocals are different, but I like his voice a lot. Most of the songs are catchy, I have not found one I didn't like.
I don't know why..
I don't know why I fight for you this way.
