i saw the thread on the chilis get closed down, assumedly cos its in the wrong forum, but it occured to me, that a long time ago they might have been called a punk band. back in the early days, around 83 and 84, they were all poor kids from broken homes, who started out doin the la club circuit. also lookin at old pictures of em, they looked as though they had a punk rock streak in em, not to mention the music was fast, vicious and lively. alot of you all probably know as well that flea used to play bass in fear. i have to admit im a huge fan of their early work, what they're doin these days makes me wanna **** myself though, i think its terrible.

so what im really sayin is, who would call the chilils of the early days a punk band?

and also if you feel like it, discuss some other bands that started out as a punk group, or punk groups that didnt(?). feel free to go for it
are there any horse socks? is anyone listening to me?

I still like them but I dunno if they were punks... I don't care either but I am in no position to vote on the poll.

They were (in the 80s/early 90s), but their music wasn't.

Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullsh*t in order to be comfortable?

That's when you know you found somebody special. When you can just shut the f*ck up for a minute, and comfortably share silence.
