what does an effect loop do? i saw it on an amp at school and was wondering what it does. and an other question we i play my hand get really cold, do you guys know a way for keeping your hands warm?

yeah you put your effects and instead of plugging your guitar into them you plug it into the input on the amp, it can also be used as out to like recording equipment

it puts your effects after your amp's preamp. Its great if you like to use effects overtop of your overdrive channels, and it gives less coloration to your original tone

and that second question is pretty lame.....play in a warmer room, and make sure you got good circulation to your hands.
