so i know the year is not over yet, but still.....
well for me it's no doubt, muse's - "black holes and..."
this album is so great nothing even touch it, it's like the "ok computer" of the year.
the new red hot chillie album really dissapointed me, and i think its pretty much suck.
maybe the new "axl rose" cd will get out this year, but as much i like axl, it will suck big time from the songs i heard so far.
"sayyy "Vandelay Industries " sayyy " Vandelay Industries" -george-

this year kind of sucked for music, all the good crap came out in late '05. I would say either Slayer 'christ illusion' or Flee the Seen 'doubt becomes the new addiction'

Man theres been so many this year. Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Sammy Hagar's was great.

People don't like Dave Mustaine because he created something that owned Metallica in just about every single aspect of thrash metal.

The new Who album will pwn all music made in the last quarter century and probably any made in the next quarter century.
But it's not out yet so I have no idea if it actually will....

So far I say a tie between

10,000 Days- Tool
Blood Mountain- Mastodon

I can't choose. Tool is just SOOOO kickass and has so much genius, but Mastodon does too. I can't choose.

Yep. It was my birthday and I was wanking in my room and all of a sudden my whole family came jumping in yelling "SURPRISE!!" I guess they were the ones who ended up being surprised.

I know the album isn't even out in stores yet, but I have heard it in it's entirety. And my candidate for album of the year is.... Winger IV. These guys have not done an album together in 13 years, yet their latest offering is musically deeper and more musically valid than anything recently in the world of rock. Of course, look who Winger (as a band) is... Some of the better musicians out there. This album is GREAT.

Chevelle:" this type of thinking could do us in". I know that album came out a 2 years ago, but it's really good.

gov't mule - high and mighty

pure, unrestrained Rock & Roll at it's finest. coming from one of the greatest blues guitarists, well, ever, this album is just crammed with jazz and blues influence modern classic rock, if there is such a thing. defiantely a must-have for any lover of heavier rock.

With your majestic silver seas
Your mysterious mountains I wish to see closer
May I land my kinky machine

Wolfmother was terrible, obviously ripping off Led Zepplin and Black Sabbath. I would have to say I was rather impressed with Muse's, Agalloch's, The Devin Townsend Band's and Tool's all had their strong points and weak points as well.
