do chicks actually dig stairway to heaven? if they do, i'm meeting the wrong women...
#4
Chicks don't dig guitar. Chicks dig it when you can talk really fast to a simple beat/tune that takes little skill to produce.
#5
theres not a whole lot of finger picking in wish you were here

closer to the heart?
babe i'm gonna leave you

i don't know if chicks will dig that though
#8
Dude, those are not GREAT finger picking songs at all, a true finger picked song is for example angie by bert jansch or strolling down the highway

Wow, ignorant AND a chauvinist! Aren't you a treasure?

I'm seconding Classical Gas because, y'know, it's worth it

Don't play classical gas - I did, and now its all anyone ever wants to hear.
Other than that...

Romeo and Juliet: Dire Straits (chicks love this one)
Windy and Warm: The Tommy Emmanuel Version
Mombasa: another Tommy Emmanuel
Yakety Axe: Chet Atkins - can be easily fingerpicked
Bron-yr-aur: Led Zep (also goes down well)
The Claw: Jerry Reed
How may The National D help you waste your time?

A great fingerpicking song is "Julia By The Beatles" of the White Album.

It is kinda of tricky pattern but once you get it down the song flows very well and sound quite nice.

Christy Moore - Ride On, Is very simple 3 chords and same pattern all the way through, but does sound amazing with an accomanpying guitar playing the lead parts.

Hope this Helps

I'll tell you a great finger-picking acoustic song to play for your girlfirend or whatever. Tommy Emmanuel's 'Since We Met.' Really nice, no lyrics or anthing, just guitar. Get the power tab version on this site.
They Call Me The Hunter...That's My Name....THEY CALL ME THE HUNTER...That's How I Got My Fame.

Don't make me or I'll you...Well...Not really... :

Romeo and Juliet - Dire Straits (Ace on a resonator)
Streets of London - Ralph McTell
Classical Gas - Mason Williams (or any other version)
Blackbird - Bealtes
Anji - Bert Jansch
The Boxer - Simon and Garfunkel

Dunno if girls like em or not, but those are some great fingerpickin' classics in my eyes, and anything by Tommy Emmanuel is great.

Signe, somewhere over the rainbow
#25
something from John Mayer, like "your body is a wonderland"... or "why georgia"....

good ones to know for girls.
#27
any jim croce songs get me chicks sometimes anyway espicially have to say i love you in a song and lovers cross
#28
Jim Croce all the way! Good call. Time in a Bottle, Operator as well are outstanding.

Cant believe no one said Dust in the Wind....the epitome of fingerpicking tunes.

If you are into classical type music check out "Cavatina", it is the theme of an old movie called "The deer Hunter". Awesome classical song.

If you want to get real crazy check out the version of Bohemian Rhapsody by Edgar Cruz(I think that is the right name).....this is tough to play, but worth the time.

Blackbird is always good, classical gas as others mentioned.

A few that come to mind...

Ulli Bogershausen - A Distant Land
Don Ross - Klimbim
Duane Allman - Little Martha
Tommy Emmanuel - Antonella's Birthday
Laurence Juber - Pink Panther Theme
Michael Hedges - Rickover's Dream
Michael Hedges - Ragamuffin
Phil Keaggy - The Wind And The Wheat

Edit: Nevermind, chicks likely won't dig any of these tunes.

The intro to Crazy on you by Heart. It's not a panty-dropper but still fun and fairly easy to play.

Wow, that IS a gorgeous song!!! Thanks man, going to learn it now...

Speaking as a girl, you're definitely right that chicks would love this. I'll play it for my boyfriend and see if it has the same effect
