Hi everyone

I have around $1200 to spend, and I want a new tube amp.
I was thinking in Hot Rod Deluxe or Hot Rod Deville, which one is better?
Or what other amp is nice for this budget?

About my style, I don't play metal, I like a clean sound, but also a nice overdrive of course.

Let's hear your opinions.

Thanks!

The Delux Reverb would have amazing cleans. The main problem with them is they are way too clean, so you wouldn't be able to get any overdrive from the amp. A tubesecremer-type pedal would fix that though.
If you could blow up the world with a flick of a switch,
Would you do it?

If you could make everybody poor just so you could be rich,
Would you do it?

With all your power,
What would you do?

and with a nice effects chain, it would have decent drive/distortion? that way it would be the perfect amp for me

^Well the distortion would be coming from the pedals, but yes it would be very good.

Used Mesa/Boogie Mark Series or F series. Or you might be able to get a Mesa/Boogie Lonestar. Delicious cleans (better than Fender, IMO), good distortion.

Are you in the US? with a $1200 dollar budget the Hot Rods are about $500 inside your budget.

No I'm not in the US, in Europe the gear is much more expensive. you get a hot rod deluxe 112 for like $850 or more
my best shot would be a '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue for like $1300

I'm gonna second the '65 (Twin/Deluxe/Super) Reverb RI. I've got a '65 Super Reverb RI and I absolutely love it.

Of course, there's no on-board overdrive, but get a TubeScreamer type OD - I'd recommend an MJM Blues Devil or a some kind of TS-9.
