hey guys, ive been playin the guitar for almost 6 yrs now. i think im moderately good, i play Satch music, GnR, Santana, alot of classic rock, but most favourably Satriani stuff these days and tryin im kinda out sum shred too..
anyways, heres my problem i was hopin sum 1 could help me with,

i was thinkin about gettin this Squier Strat i saw in a guitar shop that looks pretty neat, ive done my research n i think its a Fat Strat (humbuckers in bridge). but the problem is, ive been reading alot of the post's around UG n i get the impression that Squiers suck for some reason. is this true? of course i would get a much better guitar if i could but this is all i can afford really. even my amps are kinda weak (Kustom 16's). currently im using sum cheap ass not even epiphone les paul copy. its bears the name Falcon on the head. i also have a Zoom 606. if it is true that Squiers are really i guess i will just stick to what i have right now then

any help at all would be greatly appreciated...thanx in advance guys n gurls..
Ps: i live in Malaysia so its pretty difficult to find places like Guitar Center n all..theres just the Yamaha Music stores in shopping malls n stuff) Peace!! !!

6 years, you want a squier, you play satriani and want to play shred

first, satriani IS shred, and seriously DONT! get a squier if you've been playing 6 years, you need something that'll have good wood, hardware, pick-ups etc, if you want a strat/fat strat then get a fender mexican strat, or try around shops

i meant Satriani as in the sense he is just kinda like flexible u know? well maybe im wrong but anyways, im just looking for a guitar that can adapt to different styles of playing, blues, rock, etc etc..

as for the part of looking around for guitars, maybe you could suggest a guitar somwhere in my price rage that you might know of?? lets see..in my currency its about 600bux, in USD it would be say.. 200-300bux? i noe its not alot but its all that i can spare really. hard times mate...

lol im an ESP man here mainly because when you pay for ESP you get quality **** that you can trust unlike some companies that rip you off. now with LTD its a whole different story they are half decent and some are just complete pieces of ****. if your into classic rock i would of had recommended you the LTD EC series or if you could afford it ESP Eclipse series, but with metal i tried my hand on the Eclipse and i say that it can do metal but solo-ing up high would be restricted but doesnt mean you cant do it.

Get yourself an Ibanez RG 1570 and be done with it. You wont "need" to buy another guitar for life unless its for asthetic reasons
