Firstly neither of those are hardcore bands. Secondly Pantera played mainly in open D tuning

Pantera played a full step down.

And Neither 'Tallica or Pantera are Hardcore bands.

On the other note, I can't think of any.

^^ Too right.

If you want true hardcore in standard, go for the older, punky bands. Google for the tabs though and find a fan site or something, they can be a nightmare to find.

If your looking for more of a challenge, you'll have to move out. Like mentioned before, go for Dillinger or Number twelve. Fun to play too.

i would have to say The Number 12=awesome...but i cant really think of to many hardcore bands that can carry a hardcore rythm in standard simply bc hxc involves too many open sets for breakdowns which in standard can only be acheived by this

G-------
D-2---

there was a local hardcore band here in memphis called Rushmore and they played in standard...and they were amazing...guess it just depends on your skill....
...and oh yeah...c'mon Metallica--Pantera....i should punch you in the face
