Contact Gruen guitars !!!!
http://www.gruhn.com/

Something like a 59 Les Paul will bring a good dollar and there are those who0 will try to steel it from you ,be careful. Also elderly instruments . These are 2 of the most respected dealers in the business.

Yeah, but did you see anyone buy it?

Contact Gibson? Or take it to a trusted guitar expert if you know any.

I see your in Toronto , call long & McQuade ,they can give you a good idea and will have contacts in the vintage market locally and with some of the professionals locally and internationally.
#9
Was it actually made in 1959? or is it a reissue?

If it's a genuine made in 1959 les paul, in near mint condition, it'll fetch you over 6000$

EDIT: That was an apporximation. I'm not really sure.

A reissue might be...1500$ depending on condition. Save it for longer and it'll increase in value.
#10
I don't really know but I'd say it's worth quite a bit and I'd hold onto it because the value just goes up and up

you nose started bleeding, so the first thing you do is post it on UG? i don't understand the reasoning behind that one my friend

I'd sell the Hell out of that thing. You could buy a bigtime rig with the kind of money from that thing. Got a picture? What condition is it in? Specifics.

Post a pic or I won't believe you have one. It's a very rare, very expensive guitar, so show us you actually own one

**** dude, $6000 for a 59' Les Paul, I'd be all over that. Try adding a 1 to the front and another 0 at the end for good measure.

keep it they only go up in value over the years. If you need to sell then you should but if you dont need to i would keep for a little while longer
#23
I don't believe you, and if you prove it, I'll give you £23.

I really hate people who sit on internet forums making everybody prove everything about themselves. I do, however, hate people who ask me to do research when it's a fake and there is no need to research even more.

I not only highly doubt, but am 100% positive you don't own this guitar. Don't **** with me this late at night and ask me a ****ing question that I actually have to work to find the answer when you don't need an answer. The fact that you thought Jimi Hendrix covered Stevie Ray Vaughan completely disproves anything you say. That combined with the fact that you play "aaa hockey" leads me to believe that you're not even old enough to have a job to pay for a 59 Gibson. And judging by your posts, if I were your parents, I wouldn't trust you with a $5,000+ guitar.

You people do realize he could've attained this guitar from his parents, without any knowledge of it and/or guitars in general.

With that said, pictures would help. And if its a reissue or a genuine piece of work.

if its genuine and in mint condition you could easilly fetch a quarter million dollars for it, if you found someone willing to spend that much on a guitar.

Threadstarter: I don't belive you ATM., but if you posted pictures out of it, one where you hold up a sing that say: at the moment Gabel wrote this he was listening to Eminence front by The Who. And then we want a serial number of it.

im assuming that the guy has a reissue, as you dont usually own a guitar worth more than a house and not know it.

Give us the serial number on the back of the headstock. Until then I don't see how you guys can give prices without pictures too.
