So. I learned the Attitude Song - Steve Vai the other day, and realized that I've always wondered something and could never figure it out. I know that when you pluck a string, a timbre of frequencies come out to produce the sound, and when you do a pinch harmonic, certain frequencies are suppressed. So, what note is it? So if I were to do a pinch harmonic on the 7th fret of A, would it just be an E? Would it depend where my right hand pinch harmonic-ed it? If you really don't know, please don't answer.. Thanks!

It depends on where you hit the string I believe.

Nevermind.
I don't think there's a way to tell what note it will be in advance without knowing how to calculate it...
