Hey,

I'm just starting to get into learning scales and am wondering. What are some good scales for me to learn? My two major influences are In Flames and Chimaira. I'm thinking of learning the C Major Scale, just to get a handle on all the najor notes on the neck.

Should I also learn the Melodic Minor scale? I THINK thats what In Flames uses in alot of their songs, but since I know next to nothing about scales and theory, I could be way off.

Thanks
Chaos

Okay, you wouldn't happen to know a lesson or something that would show me harmonic minor and all its modes? I can search for one, and after I get some sleep thats exactly what I'm gonna do, but if you know one it would be helpful.

Thanks

In Flames and Cimaira might use harmonic minor scales, I don't know, I haven't heard them before. However, I'd recommend learning the natural minor scale first.
