right so iam getting a new guitar for christmas but iam not too sure what i really want, it's really a toss up between a Gibson SG standard or an Epiphone Les Paul. I have played both and i really like them but which one is better, i play a mix of music such as metal, punk rock and soft rock. I also want to make sure that iam getting a guitar with a sound and easy playability.

If you guys have any other suggestions as to what i can get that would be cool.

Thanks again
JT

get the sg!!

i may be slightly biased in favour of it because i am, in fact, very much in love with my sg, but i find mine to be pretty versatile and highly enjoyable to play - i much prefer it to epi LP's.

but thats just my opinion

A gibson standard SG is alot better than your standard epi les paul, but if it's a Elitest then it's a different story.

I bet Danno is laughing his ass off now.

Get the SG. It has a thinner neck and is generally a better guitar. You will need a new amp to get the most of it.

Try Roland Cubes, Peavey Valvekings, some Laney amps, or Marshall AVT's

haha i agree, but more power to him.

I love my sg...unfortunately i only have a gibson faded sg special. I love it...but the standard is better. I played it and loved it, but after deciding on getting a tube amp with it, I stepped my guitar down to a faded special

You get an offer between a Gibson SG or an epi? My epi is great but **** take advantage of the offer for a Gib! I prefer the lp bodies mind.
Behringerv-tone(first guitar)
Epiphone les paul standard plus (cherry burst)
Flanger Pearl peddle
Marshall G15R CD
Dunlop 535Q wah

I like Epi LP's. You got a problem, PM me!
