Nemo do/did you like Joy Division?

I like Warsaw, the band they were before they went all "goth-ical".

Warsaw's stuff is hard to find on vinyl, so just check out some of their tracks from Joy Division's "Unknown Pleasures".
"Warsaw" is a good song and "Interzone" sounds like the Stooges with Ian Curtis singing.
The guy was completely obsessed with Iggy.

I don't like straight edge because it's part of Hardcore, and I don't like Hardcore because, aside from the terrible music, the kids are often very homophobic.

Warsaw only made one single. Used to be able to get bootlegs of the pre-Unknown Pleasures studio tape that was never released on vinyl, but doubt there's many around now. I got a tape of it somewhere. No Love Lost is on it, which is one of my favourite tracks. No idea why they dropped it from Unknown Pleasures. I prefer the version of Shadowplay on there too.

They put this out in 1994, which contains all the early Warsaw stuff.

But I used to see a bootleg from 1981 on "RZM Productions" that looked like this from time to time, although the cover was pink and just said "Warsaw"

That 2nd one is artwork from the single. Anyway, I didn't know they'd released the Warsaw stuff. Bootleg I got tape of was a friends, just called Warsaw, and had the Unknown Pleasures logo as picture disc. That be about '85 I think.

Edit: Don't worry, i'm not homophobic.

I gave everyone else a chance, so I'll answer it.

It was the headline of an Ottowa newspaper in 1978.

Name the band that featured Stiv Bators, Dee Dee Ramone and Johnny Thunders.

I know for a fact that SS311's answer is the right one, and I encourage him to post a question.

If I'm wrong, I'll buy everyone on this forum Fugazi CDs and write a letter to Ian MacKaye and tell him how great he is.
(Of course, the CDs will all be scratched up and unplayable and the letter will say how great Ian is at being a fascist. Hahahahaha)

This is what I've always heard....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stiv_Bators

Bators was a fan and devotee of Jim Morrison, the lead singer of The Doors, and had his ashes spread over Morrison's grave in the Père Lachaise Cemetery; supposedly these were his wishes, but it's doubtful he was seriously contemplating his death when he indicated this wish.

Here's one to get this thread rolling again:

What was the original title of the Roger Miret & the Disasters song "Emily"? Bonus points for anyone who can explain it, too.

That first one is well clever because the upside down warsaw looks polish.

Excellent artwork. Not sure about the baby though, nowadays you could not get away with that.

Okay, maybe that one was too tough.

The original title of the song was "Denise, Denise". Explanation: Roger recently broke up with his third wife, whose name was *gasp* Denise. He had already written and performed this song about her, but he hadn't recorded it yet. He quickly found a girlfriend, named *gasp #2* Emily. He simply changed the title from his old wife's name to his new girlfriend's name.

Here's an easier one:

Kurt Brecht, lead singer of D.R.I., had his brother in the band for a while. What was the brother's name, and what did he play?

Johnny Rotten (John Lydon) had a disease during childhood that caused him to have a permanently hunched back and bad eyesight (you know his cray cray stare). What was this disease?

He died in car crash 2 weeks after he joined NOFX

Maybe we should all wait for ss11 to tell us if it's the right answer before we ask out own question.

Was it John Rotten?
