So I've got this steel string acoustic. It's a good guitar, except for the fact that when I try to play anything on the twelth fret (Edit: Oops, I meant 9th ) I get a loud buzzing sound with the note. This is expesially bad at the D string.

I'm almost certain I'm using enough pressure.

Oops, I meant 9th fret. Sorry

Edit: Actually it's in various places around the ninth fret.

Try filing your frets down a little bit.

yes little by little start changeing the strings and filing down just a tad every time till u get it righ!!!

I would take it into a professional before trying my hand at filing frets myself. Your strings might be too light for your truss rod setting, for instance. Better to get a second opinion.
