I'm looking to get myself a new guitar soon and it's probably gonna be a Les Paul. As far as I know, Les Pauls come with Covered humbuckers, uncovered humbuckers and P-90s. Different pickups will obviously have a profound influence on the guitar's tone, so I'm gonna need to get one with the right pickups. What would the differences be between pickups? This guitar is going to used mostly for blues and blues-rock, keep in mind. And finally do any other Les Pauls either than the '56 Goldtops come with P-90s?

For blues and blues/rock, i'm gonna say p-90s would be your best choice. They have a really middy-smooth tone. I love it, and lots of classic rock has used p-90s. The main example i can think of is the Who.
