I consider the band, Running Wild, pirate metal. They dress up like pirates.

Amon Amarth....? Maybe?

I haven't the slightest clue myself as to what 'Pirate Metal' is.

Amon Amarth is smth like Viking metal or some sort.

Pirate metal a kind of a subgenre of folk metal. It's flagged as pirate when the music has a feeling of those days and when the artists dress like pirates. (I think)

I've seen a live footage of amon amarth in W.O.A. where they had some people fighting in viking costumes and shields and shit. It was awesome and fun to watch..
This whole pirate and viking and blah blah metal got me confused. I'll just listen to black like I always do to keep my head clear .. lol.

Pirate Metal: Originally started by posers who never listened to folk metal. Bands along the lines that are folk metal that got confused by theys dumbass kids are: Einherjer, Finntroll ect... Now some people are taking this confusion and auctiually making it into there own little joke genra. There was no such thing as pirate metal.

Swashbuckle and Running Wild are the two I know, but they've already been posted.

to las7:
The only things vikings and pirates have in common are boats and beards. Viking can be used to refer to the Norse people of the Viking Age (8th to 11th century), whereas when people think of pirates they think of the scallywags who sailed the high seas from the 16th to 18th century stealing booty from easy targets.

i think pirate metal is an awesome concept, as well as viking metal, but........
