Anybody know of any songs that aren't too simple but aren't too difficult to use my trem with? I have just found it after 1 year of it being lost and my skills are....Shabby to say the least.

=)

Thanks.

The guy has a Squier strat, there's no way he could possibly pull off Van Halen with the trem on that thing.

What, Dimebag solos are easier than Eruption?? Come on.
My name is Marc! Silly username.

Reading this post again, I see what you mean.

Threadstarter, you can't do ANYTHING with a Strats whammy bar.

Dimebag solos...Okey doke.

Yeah it's not the best trem ever. Doesn't take the strings outta tune though, so not the worst.

Just customize it, add springs, locking tuner etr.....

EDIT: just saw u had a squier.. if u want to go crazy with the trem u need a locking whammy.

It will still not handle any of the stuff these people are suggesting. Strat trems are not built for divebombing and wild whammy antics. And FYI Hendrix's strat did go out of tune when he used the bar like he did.

When I asked for simple songs I meant ones that aren't like crazy trem antics, just using the trem and sounding half decent.

Peaches by The Presidents of the USA.

Super easy song with some trem in the intro.

The best thing to do is just mess around with the trem. It'll help you realise how limited the trem on the Affinity series is. Then maybe you'll block the trem and notice the boost in sustain.

Lesson? Block that bizzatch.

This is funny, seeing as how eruption AND aint talkin about love and all the van halen album, were using a standard strat trem.

^ true pre floyd era fo sure. you can dive bomb a strat trem but setting it up to float makes it hard to keep tuned and doesnt really have much of an up pull.

I'm not blocking it. Can't be bothered with the work, and it's my mess-around guitar. I'll look at metallica. I can't pull the trem up past...0.5mm.

It really isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be? I can get it down from say 12th fret to 5rd without losing tuning easily, I haven't even tried going further.

lenny by stevie ray vaughan, uses tremelo and he had a strat

fantastic song too
" the lick is simply a diminished harmonic minor arpeggiated sequence of dominant stitonics descending down in whole steps in the Phrygian mode...with a raised fourth.
