the nut is usually at the headstock. its for neck bow / angle adjustment not action adjustment. (tho it can make the action seem better.)

anyway, before i explain in detail how to adjust, lets talk about why u want to.

It's a metal rod that goes through the neck to support it.

In simpler words it's what keeps the neck straight.
