Can you guys suggest me any songs that has both showy guitar and drum parts for a contest?
Please keep it under the sub-genres of rock.

For the Filipinos, it's fine to suggest an OPM song.
Well, of all the metal songs, you could choose anything that you like, and before the final verse of the song, just do some normal jams and stay in that chord progression, shred over the drums/bassline and then you make a progression so that your drummer could improvise. Crowds love that, provided that you do it correctly.

Thats what she said...
Metal is rock, we i dont think he means like 'shouty' metal, like how i suggested maiden and sabbath, that sort of metal, but if you want to go for 'rock' then, thin lizzy, GnR, Van Halen, Pink Floyd

those are the things that were popped up in my head first for some reason
If it's not asking too much, give me new songs that are from 2000 and beyond.

I played in a show one time where we played "Dammit" by Blink 182. Most people know and like that song, plus when it gets to that slow part thats kinda in the middle, we just jammed for a little while. It turned out sounding pretty cool, and the crowd seemed to like it.
Hard stuff is ok for us because both the drummer and I have been playing for more than 5 years.
