What other pedals, besides the wah-pedal and phaser effects do you think are necessary for
a lot of funk playing. Of course I know you don't NEED f/x but what are some common pedals/fx used. Thanks.

I'd say fuzz and compression, but funk is mostly in the playing.

Single coil pickups. Not an effect, I know, but pretty necessary anyway, IMO.

Come on people , envelope filter anyone. I have an Electro-Harmonix mini Q-Tron and it is made for that funk sound.
