Okay, I'm new to building amps and such. I am beginning to read a few books I bought, but after looking in them they say absolutely nothing about how caps and resistors alter sound. So can anyone tell me how these alter sounds?
Well caps are pretty easy...higher value-more bass let through.

Resistors' effects on sound depends on where you put them.
I'm not very active here on UG currently.
I'm a retired Supermod off to the greener pastures of the real world.
resistors are usually used with capacitors to block certain frequencies.

a resistor with capacitor to ground will bleed off high frequencies, while a capacitor with resistor to ground will block low frequencies
