me and my friend and the bass guitarist from our school jazz band wanna play a couple of songs at our school's talent show, we want somethin simple, upbeat, and fun to play to. my suggestions

rockin in the freeworld-neil young
smells like teen spirit-nirvana (i know, everyone does this cover)
hold the line - toto (i haven't checked any tabs out yet so im still not sure)
breakin' the law - Judas Priest (again, haven't looked at any tabs yet)
turn up the radio - autograph
rebel yell - billy idol

so anyone have any easy song suggestions that are classic rock / hair metal style, and what do you think of the songlist i just listed?

It depends on your peers really. Are they friendly, mature people or are they just ignorant, unappreciative idiots?

If it's the latter, you could probably play 'The Test That Stumped Them All' by Dream Theater with your hair and they'd still call it **** and laugh at you for listening to metal and being a 'Grunge' or whatever.
