the notes for a c7 chord are C,E,G,and A#
i found this chord on chordfind.com

e-----0------------| E
B-----1------------| C
G-----3------------| a#
D-----2------------| e
A-----3------------| c
E------------------|

the G is clearly missing so my question is this could you remove a note or notes from a chord and if so which ones

That's a C7. You can remove or add any nots basicly. It just changes the name. Fat the 3rd of that chord and make a minor.

That's a C7 chord, not a C chord. The notes for a C chord are C, E, and G. A# isn't in the C Major scale. Thus, C7 isn't even in the key of C.

You can add or modify any notes from a chord as long as you stay in the scale. If you play the C Major scale in the open position, you can see all of the notes that are "safe" notes to use. Then, you can build your own customized C chord off that.

You can take the 5th out of a 7th chord

I hope that we could get some real metal out there. I guess A7X a start...
But nu metal does have its moments like Slipknot Mushroomhead and Korn.
