i want to know if it sucks or not

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--nvCdTr6xA

Dellyupdate:

i know my tone doesn't sucks, but i know i can improve it, i know i can but i completely ignore how...

a friend came to my house last week, and i played my guitar and my amp, but with his digitech rp300a and it sounded good, then we plugged his epi sg and it sounded even better, my question is...

if i can't afford to change my amp(i will when i save up some money to get a better one) what should i do?

1-get a new guitar (something along the lines of schecter, epiphone or ibanez)

2- get a distortion or an overdrive pedal

i'm not going to buy an rp300 cause i only need a better high gain tone (for metal and shred) and not tons of effects

btw, my tone is better now than the one in the video(not what i want though)

thanks in advance

Your amp doesn't smell like burning tubes, does it?

Seriusly. Your tone is really bad, but if you improve our playing and play some harder stuff and more dynamic it'll sound a whole lot better. Instead of walking around in your room, focus on playing and your technique.

What gear do you use?

fiddle around with your amp. start with all your knobs at 12 o'clock, then, gently add some mids, treble etc. untill you found the CLEAN tone you really like. Then, do the same thing to your distortion pedal or channel. It worked for my on-the-road gear

i play rythm, we are just in rehearsals now (we're just beggining as a band, oour first rehhearsal will be bext saturday)

we play metal, punk and blues

in that case, for now stick with the fender, tweak your eq, but raise your levels otherwise your tone will just sound lifeless and flat

and if music is something you want to be doing as a career down the line, start saving and invest in a good valve amp

valve jr. is louder than you think...dont underestimate the volume of tubes

i tottally agree with you, my 40 watt will destroy most solid state amps with twice the power, but the valve jr is only 5 watt, i might use it for a place that could pack in about 20 people but nothing over that

I just wanna ask, how long you've been playing cause that could also be a big factor.

But yeah it can be improved.

to tommyt

i've noticed that when i raise the volume it sounds better

to distortion 101

i been playing for 2 years (it was just a stupid jam, i can play some more difficult stuff)

i think the fender hot rod deluxe could be a good choice

I know it was a stupid jam but you still have to sound how you always do.
Its not if the song is harder you get a better tone. That just shows that youve practiced more than certain people.

I admit maybe cause it was a stupid jam that it was bad. I admit than when im lazy and i feel like playing the guitar, i dont give a **** about stuff like noise, wrong notes, tone etc.
But you broadcast yourself on the net and you wanted to ask us about your tone AND YOU PUT A STUPID JAM THAT YOU KNOW HAS NO TONE AND YOU KNOW YOU CAN DO BETTER. next time play some thing better and and put more energy into it and Voila, if you can do better and your tone is instantly improved
