Ok i have a fender 2x12 deville amp. I got it used and it sounds great.

Occassionally the sound goes very low, and usually if I switch it to stand by, and switch it back to on it sounds fine, but recently i found if i hit the side of it the sound comes back, or goes back down depending..
.
But before you bash me for 'hitting' my amp...

im not hitting...its litterally a gentle tap on the side...like the pressure you use when you do a golf clap...
but anywayz...i just found that out...im not here beating it. I literally just found that out...

im wondering if it could be a couple things...the tubes...maybe the tubes are in there bad, or something, or its a power problem.

I have the amp plugged into a power strip which is full of ****...so maybe i should just plug it into the wall? or maybe somehting is comming loose inside...but i hope it is an easy fix, any suggestions?

Try plugging it into an empty plug, it might be a shortage of power?

How loud are you playing it? Sometimes when amps are turned too loud, they tend to go a little lower.

im in a dorm room...i rarely put it past 2, lol, which is still loud as ****...

I just plugged it into an empty socket and it seemed fine...but sometimes it does it and other times it doesnt. I also looked at the tubes, which are sitll firmly in place, and all the soldering looks good and clean.

but i guess its fine...i dont have an empty plug to use...I guess not having enough power wont hurt it. Or i guess i could unplug one of my many power strips for it...but im not sure what will work in the room and what wont, haha
