Can someone or some people run over the basic vocabulary that is very helpfull when learning bass. I have heard somethings but never really know what they meant. I heard someone talking about "action" if anything can you guys define that for me?

I could look "action" up any day but it's better to get it from a bassist's perspective, I think so atleast.

Its basically the height of the strings off the fretboard

A low action means the strings are low to the fretboard, making it easier to play
A high action means the strings are higher off the board, making the notes clearer

Try the screws on the saddle..the bridge saddle i mean...test the string tension too after
you've set it to a nice height.... i've always thought its troublesome but i'll get to it one fine
day. :P
