i think alvarez has some nice models for that much money, I have a Takamine G Series and i love it, look into those, you can get a decent one for under 750 easy
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
Takamine G340SC
Epiphone G 310

Check out Breedlove. I really like the Breedlove AC25...it comes as an acoustic electric for around $700 I believe, and is hard to beat in that category.

Gear:
Partscaster/Tele into a bunch of pedals, a Maz 18 head, and a Z Best cab.

I love my Breedlove. Preferring the dreadnaught, I'd recommend: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Breedlove-Atlas-Series-AD25SM-AcousticElectric-Guitar?sku=512404

If you can get a couple extra bucks together, the "plus" model is gorgeous. You also get a handsome hardshell case included, rather than the gig bag.

Sounds/plays outstanding. Nothing but compliments for them.

I agree. Breedlove makes awesome guitars. I also prefer the dreadnought body style.
