This is the new edited version. Made a few changes here and there.

"You" doesn't necessarily mean a woman here. It could be family, god, a city, whatever- and yes, even a woman.

Headlights on high, the world passes by
Think I must be drunk again
Leaving behind what they said wasn?t mine
Now I?m driving alone in the rain

I've seen the last of the ghosts of my past
The midnight hour's my friend
Spinning wheels and camera reels
Forgotten on some other bend

[chorus]Half a memory, a picture of you
Stuck on the windshield at the edge of my sight
Half a life as one half of you
Leaving tonight, I?ll be gone before light
Just an empty suitcase, and half a memory of you

The wounds that hurt, bleeding paper cuts
On your wrist already scarred by time
To hurt is to feel, to love is to kneel
To be alive is part of the crime

So I?m moving on, I hope you?ll notice I?m gone
I hope you'll remember me another day
While nomad at heart, I play my part
And by morning I shall have lost my way.

[rep chorus]

Perfect good rhyming and i love the meaning

The freeway?s alive under my overdrivedont like that line
Dark midnight my friend
Spinning wheels and camera reels
Forgotten on some other bend
Good apart from the first line

[chorus]Half a memory, a picture of you
Stuck on the windshield at the edge of my sight
Half a life as one half of you
Leaving tonight, I?ll be gone before light
Just an empty suitcase, and half a memory of you
although you say it doesnt have to mean a woman but to me it always will

Trust in a rut, a bleeding paper cut
Upon your wrist scarred by time
To hurt is to feel, to love is to kneel
To be alive is part of the crime
Absolute magic apart from first four words which arent as good as they dont really fit

So I?m moving on, I hope you?ll notice I?m gone
Will you watch the driveway all day?
While nomad at heart, I play my part
And by morning I shall have lost my way.
what does nomad mean? but otherwise great

About a 8/10 if you get good musci to it

I really like it, espacially the 2nd verse... except for the driveway all day thing.

@GrundyO: A nomad is someone who has no firm home but wanders around (as far as I know)

Yaaaa! ,now thats a great song.Nicely done. As Grundy said,"under my overdrive" doesnt sit well with me....the freeway's alive,as it zig-zags.....somethin like that might work...."and by morning I shall have lost my way"....a nice closing line. I dont usually rate but its an eazy 8/10 atleast...I have a song with a simular idea titled "STRONGEST MAN ALIVE" on page 4 last I chkd I think may interest you. Your crit would be appreciated.....nice work.
