Hey guys and gals. Just looking for some suggestions on good heavy metal solos to learn. Not metal like Lamb of God or that stuff, but any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

what kinda solos do u prefer, and what solos can u play? maybe something by 'tallica?

Well, I thought electric guitar solos would be considered part of "electric guitar". My mistake, I guess. More along the lines of '70s and '80s metal, but not the glam or hair metal crap.

Metal solos I can play:

Symphony of Destruction-Megadeth
Enter Sandman, Wherever I May Roam, Fade To Black, No Remorse-Metallica
Crazy Train-Ozzy

Stuff along those lines, if that helps any.

Ok Cody, if you think that A7X solos are easy, why don't you play "Sidewinder" for us. Go on, we would love to hear you play it since you are so amazing at the guitar.

I double hope that was.

Anyways, Megadeth solos are pretty sweet, and they range from fairly easy to very difficult. I'm sure you could find something to intrest you.

I hope all Avenged Sevenfold fans throw up their organs tonight.

breadfan, solos off Show No Mercy are your friend. If you want more groovy stuff, try Sabbath's Paranoid, Snowblind, or Heaven and Hell. Mr. Crowley has a cool solo, too. Basically, whatever solo you enjoy listening to, learn. Even if you can't play it right away, knowing how the solo is played will leak it into your memory each time you hear it.

Zakk Wylde!!!

Sorry, I don't know any particular solos off the top of my head right now, but he has some great ones.. might be a little difficult though..

Give 10 UGers a rope and ask them to pull. 4 will push, 1 will ask for buttsecks, 2 will tell you get an Ibanez and the last 3 will start complaining about Line6 Spiders.

zakk wylde solo's are pretty difficult, once you get his basic style down it gets easier. but a great, simple solo to learn would be "them bones" by alice in chains. i love that one. they have a lot of other great solos too, like "man in the box"
